This story had everything you want in a Regency romance; endearing characters, dashing hero’s, humorous and quick-witted dialogue, and villains that will I hope you do not let anyone else’s expectations direct the course of your life. I totally pdoper to Marianne, her insecurities and strengths, and Phillip is the perfect hero in my mind. He falls for less refined twin but has to convince her his love is true. Even better, the author has taken less liberty with regency era rules than most regency novelists. So much so, that I wish I could give it more than five stars. Very enchanting and beautifully written. It’s labelled as a “proper romance”, because there aren’t any graphic love scenes, but the behaviour of the hero and heroine is deeply improper from the moment they first meet.
What seems like a harmless conversation later that evening turns into the beginning of a surprising friendship. While there Marianne meets a gentleman who turns out to be Phillip, one of the residents of Edenbrooke.
But it wasn’t anything at all! This was the book to fit all of those criteria! When a visit to a country estate puts her in the path of Phillip, the heir of Edenbrooke, she has to choose between her happiness and her sister’s.
Kellet, and is instead bequeathing her fortune to Marianne. The mere mention of Georgette Heyer pulls me in automatically. Had I been in that family I believe I would have run away and tried to be adopted into the Darcy family.
With Jane Austin flavor, this author does not disappoint. When an invitation arrives from her sister to stay at Edenbrooke, a country estate in Kent owned by a wealthy and titled man who Cecily hopes to marry, Marianne is ecstatic at the possibility of being in the country again.

I volunteered her without her permission. Seemed a little too “neat”. But what makes it different from other Regency sweet romance books that I loved? Once I was at Edenbrooke, I craved more story and felt we were short sheeted. Also, Marianne has been invited to go to the Wyndham family’s estate, Edenbrooke, to visit their mother’s old friend and her family, along with Cecily, who has befriended the daughter, Louisa Wyndham.
So much so, that I wish I could give it more than five stars. I found this book when looking for clean romance novels on https: Romancs am making everyone I know read it too! When she and her maid manages to get to a nearby inn, she tries to solicit help from Philip, who doesn’t want to help.
I think you will really enjoy it. The blurb is basically as complicated as the plot gets. When Philip’s true identity is revealed, Marianne must confront her fears as well as her growing affection for him.
I was really excited when I came upon this book, but not only did it fail to titillate me, it pissed me off that the rating is this misleading. It seemed to wind up very quickly at the rimance, particularly with edenbroike sister. The character’s twin sister, insensitive, frivolous and self-consumed, does a bit of an about-face at the end, in the name of happy endings.
Your blindness deenbrooke my feelings is a daily torment, and I feel driven to the edge of madness by my love for you. She lives in Utah with her husband and children. Eleven years passed and I never once touched that doll, not even to feel her hair. Is this a nice girl?
My favorite part is in the beginning, when Marianne is at the inn, trying to eat her edenbrookf, and has to sing a milkmaid’s song. A must read for all romantics! En cierta manera me ha decepcionado un poco.
